An idyllic gated community in Leicestershire 

This brief for a project in Leicestershire was an incredible experience; Infusing warm tones and natural textures into new build bungalows through the application of oak doors. Working with a contemporary design carefully chosen to complement this unique development. And seeing it come together for a fresh, contemporary end result. Here’s how things unfolded.

Individually designed homes in the heart of a community

When longstanding acquaintance, Phil Chimento of Keystone Vale, contacted us for support we were delighted to assist. Keystone Vale is currently working on a set of seven bungalows, forming a collection of bespoke homes which, together, will be known as Westwood Place. 

This new development is tucked away in Leicestershire, within a thriving market town close to all its amenities. Ideally situated, this spot has a rustic appeal which we knew could be further enhanced by the use of high grade materials for an authentic yet refined look.

Presenting a rare opportunity for a sought-after lifestyle on the south side of town, the bungalows are nestled in country surroundings, close to the bustle of Melton Mowbray. 

The right fenestration solutions, therefore, could become a way to quite literally open a door to all the possibilities associated with moving into a new home. Namely soaking up the local atmosphere and feeling completely immersed in Leicestershire life.

As Phil had known our directors for a long time, Fenea was first choice when beginning the search for a fenestration supplier. Predominantly due to the fact he understood our products would be able to exceed even the most stringent standards. 

Our team also felt confident knowing we had a selection of designs suitable for enhancing each individual bungalow in its own bespoke way. Perfect for creating that elevated gated community feel while still emphasising the natural landscape that truly defines the properties. 

Effortless installation and timeless design 

Keystone Vale’s initial brief was for us to supply high quality doors that would be suitable for premium properties. This was where our expertise came in useful. 

We were able to recommend our signature Oak Prefinished Internal Door Sets. Prehung doors were chosen to ensure rapid installation (ideal for keeping projects like this on track and under budget). A wooden tone would complement the bungalows; offering a consistent finish while retaining a sense of individuality with an oak grain that naturally features subtle variants. The epitome of timeless allure. 

Bringing warmth and character to the bungalows, the oak door sets also provided a number of benefits developed to enhance the modern living experience. The Oak engineered core offered both stability and thermal efficiency, while the oak veneer featured grooves for authentic texture. This particular design is also available as FD30 fire doors. Perfect for complying with regulations while offering peace of mind. 

The simplicity of the pre hung doors (in that everything is included ready for fast installation) is of huge benefit to clients such as Keystone Value. It helps reduce labour costs and time spent fitting doors. And when combined with short lead times, makes for a hassle-free process that ultimately supports overall success.

Moving onto the final stage, Phil provided a door set timeline to keep things straightforward. He then sent across information on lining depths and sizes. Next, we agreed on a plan of action as a team and worked to a strict schedule to meet the deadlines. The last step was to supply the first batch of Prefinished Oak Internal Door Sets for Plot 1 of Westwood Place.
